<p>To me, linguistics, economics, anthropology etc. count as sciences… except maybe soft psych.</p>
<p>But when a summer internship (for a biomedical position) asks you for your science GPA, do you exclude your linguistics, economics, etc. coursework? To me, linguistics is very scientific – phonetics involves a lot of acoustics and physics.</p>
<p>for a biomed position, chances are they’re asking about the natural and physical sciences, not social sciences like econ. So I would include any classes you’ve taken in the biological or physical science departments and exclude the rest. I mean, subjects like psych, anthro and linguistics do require science classes, but they’re social sciences and classes like econ are irrelevant for the position. You can always email them to clarify as well.</p>
<p>Yeah, except evolutionary linguistics has a lot of intersection with evolutionary biology so I was wondering… and psycholinguistics is IMO a “hard psych” course.</p>
