<p>I always had the impression when talking to admissions people that UT was a very by the numbers kind of admissions process. Things like essays came into play only in borderline cases. I’m sure someone read it though.</p>
<p>do you think with low 3s gpa i might be a borderline case for COLA? i wrote the sop and personal statement to sort of explain my low GPA (one bad semester) besides that semester i have about 4 more semester (pt & ft) with around a 3.9 GPA</p>
<p>The lowest GPA I’ve heard of being accepted was about 3.35. Not sure what yours is, but in that neighborhood I would think it is borderline. Hopefully your explanation will help them see the bad semester was the outlier and your true abilities reflected by the other semesters. Good luck!</p>
