Do they tell you why you got rejected??

I’m just curious…let’s say they reject you…would they tell you WHY?? Would you be able to find out?

It won’t say “why” in your rejection letter. But you could potentially find out in at least three ways: asking nicely, breaking into the system, or suing them for rejecting you.

There’s no rejection letter. You basically don’t get an acceptance letter and that’s it for you.

I guess the only reason would be you’re not qualified.

So just an e-mail??? You only get a letter if you’ve been accepted?

Your decision comes from the myBerkeleyApplication website. That site says that you are either rejected, accepted into fall, or accepted into spring.

We’re cheap like that.

Yeah, you only get online notification if you are rejected. Even if you are accepted the envelop is really thin. They don’t send you much stuff. With so many students you can’t expect much more.

You won’t be able to find out why unless maybe possibly calling them.

The envelope isn’t thin. It’s a nice folder that says something to the effect of “blah blah blah, do you hear the bells ringing? that’s the bells of Berkeley, opportunity is knocking blah blah blah, you’re accepted, blah blah blah.”

And no, we’re not too cheap to send out rejection letters. We just want to get the people who were accepted to come. Instead of wasting money on the people who got rejected, we use it to raise matriculation rates.

The envelope was pretty thin last year. I got a certificate or something that said “Please Come Here. We Want you” or something to that effect and a letter, I think. UCLA acceptance envelope was thicker, it had bunch of stuff, like stat sheets and whatnot.

Only because of UCLA’s meager attempt to lure away students from Berkeley ;)

I heard last year they included some random info sheet saying UCLA was ranked #2 for something from a never heard before rankings company or along those lines.

It was like Washington Monthly or something like that. I mean, only thing that I can definitely remember is that it was from Washington.:o

forgive me…anxious mom here…when does UCB let you know if accepted? would someone please enlighten me-thanks in advance

Last year it was like March 31st or sometime close to that. The applicant can go to myBerkeleyApp and it says the date there, I believe.

yea, last year it was march 31st, at least that’s when you get it online. I actually got the letter several days later.

i knew about 2 or three weeks before because of Regents and Chancellors scholarship though.

If you look at UCB’s website they’ve posted the admissions notification online as March 29th for freshmen and April 30th for transfers.
