Do transferred credits count?

If credits did transfer, do they count toward your degree progress?

Transfer credit may count for either credit units toward the number of credits needed to graduate or subject credit for specific requirements (e.g. introductory economics for an economics major, calculus for a math or physics major, English composition for general education requirements, etc.), or both. These are all determined by the college you transfer to.

If that college and your current college have an articulation agreement (more common between community colleges and state universities in the same state), then you may be able to find out beforehand which courses transfer for subject credit.

Yes, kind of by definition. The important question is what each course transfers in as, though.

direct equivalency, I guess.

most likely, yes- but there are variations between universities, and sometimes (esp in your major) there are more specific requirements (course x must be taken in the degree granting university, for example- most likely to happen with upper level classes.

Your first meeting with your advisor should include a review of the credits you have and the credits you need.

I mean, I have looked at the degree checksheet and it seems like I have already completed a lot of required classes.

Have you talked to an academic advisor at the college you intend to graduate from? In all seriousness, they’re the ones who can answer this question for your situation better than precisely 100% of the respondents on this forum can.

Not yet, but I will!
