Do UCs accept Community college credit after submitting SIR?

I want to take a class online at a jc while I am enrolled at my new college i am transferring to…i heard college will no longer take jc credit after you sir…is this true?

It depends on the UC. If it’s UCLA, you can do this until you have 105 quarter units (need an approval though). Not sure how does it work with all the other UCs, but I guess it would be similar.

what if I choose not to use some credits? Will that matter?

You/ We can’t just choose not to use certain units.

man, being a transfers sucks…so much time wasted. I will have to start at a beginning sequence again for a course due to them requiring me to finish my sequence at a JC or starting anew. Nowhere on the site did it explain this! Now I know why there are groups for transfers on campuses - support for frustration!

The UC’s can make an exception if you are going to use the course to satisfy major requirements. you can’t get more than 70/105 credits. it is done on a case by case basis.

@ccnube what sequence and what school?

The 70 semester or 105 quarter unit limitation is just for the transferred unit count; all courses you took at CC could satisfy subject requirements – see http://www.assist.org to see if they do.

You’ll also need to fill out paperwork if you want to do this. It’s called concurrent enrollment, and any credits you take without prior authorization makes them worthless.
