<p>I plan on transferring to UCI for their Computer Science program but have been faced with difficulties managing all the work. After some thought, it appears as though I will be spending at least 3 years to complete the required courses to transfer. I was wondering, do universities consider the time I spent in community college? I do admit I have been slacking off due to lack of motivation but I’m intent on putting myself back on track. What are some of the things admissions offices look at aside from the GPA, statement, and extracurriculars?</p>
<p>They take it into account to some degree, but it’s not a static thing. If you’re taking extra time due to repeatedly failing and retaking courses, then it’s definitely a bad thing. If you’re just taking your time and electing to take lighter schedules rather than overloading on courses, it’s not really such a bad thing. </p>
