<p>It’s an interesting question - really.</p>
<p>After all, there are so many alternative approaches/solutions to a single problem, especially when the problems are open-ended real world problems. And some people find some approaches different from others. </p>
<p>(although institutional problems [schools and APs are institutions] are much more close-ended so oftentimes some problems in those demand only one solution).</p>
<p>most of my advice is just b.s. to get my post count up.</p>
<p>Depends on how well I know the advisee and his situation. If it’s just some random poster on CC, I’m probably going to give bad advice because it’s hard to describe the full extent of some sorts of problems in one post.</p>
<p>I usually do trust my advice. I really do try to answer as best I can with the information I know. Like you said, though, its hard to give information to someone I don’t know.</p>
<p>Trust, maybe. Do I TAKE my own advice? Hell no.</p>
