Do you copy homework?

^True, the ones who copy every single day and don’t do their work themselves are annoying. I’ll usually tell them no. I assumed you meant everyone. I’ll let my friends and people I know copy, especially if it’s just once or twice, because it’s just the generally nice thing to do, you know, helping someone out, especially since there’ll most likely be a time where I need to copy theirs. But I agree, the ones who ask over and over to copy aren’t going to get anywhere in life.

Interesting how freely you call fellow human beings “parasites” for their part in your dishonesty.

It’s not my problem, SPELondonbrondon. And it’s not my dishonesty, it’s theirs. If they want to do something wrong, it’s their problem. I don’t specifically ask each and every person if they would like to copy homework before class. I leave my copybook on the desk and go chat with friends or socialize with random people, then another one of them confronts me with “Hey, is it okay if I copy the homework? I really forgot.” I say that I don’t care or give a curt nod or so. Then again, I’m not sure if this is the right course of action or whether I should say no altogether.

According to your logic though, if someone were to cheat off your test paper in an exam, would that make YOU dishonest?

I let people copy my homework if there are only five minutes before the class begins, just to avoid them whining and getting mad at me. And they owe me one now.
Other than that, I will usually just sit down and help them with their homework without actually giving away the answers.

If you allowed them, yes. Is that even a question?

The only homework I copy was for Chemistry. It’s not that I don’t know how to do it. It’s just that my teacher gives us like ridiculous amount of homework. So whatever I don’t finish I have to copy from somebody else so that I don’t risk losing my A in the class.

Have a nice day

I agree with SPE - if you let people copy your homework, you are also dishonest. You are cheating, along with them.

I’ve only done it a handful of times, maybe 5 times in my entire life. The latest time was last year, my friend did the front of the worksheet, I did the back, and we swapped answers. The teacher ended up collecting it even though she never does, and now I’m scared about copying. If someone asks to copy something I worked really hard on, like my Apush hw, or my AP physics homework, I’m like screw you, do it yourself, but other than that I don’t really have a problem with people looking at a FEW of my answers for homework that won’t be collected, and that took me 5 second to do, that is unless I don’t like the person, then again I’m like screw you do it yourself.

So you assume that the people coming in everyday that don’t do their work and tried to copy off you are “parasites”.

Hmm did you ever think they don’t really care about College or higher education and just want a decent grade? Did you ever considered that perhaps they are simply too busy? Or perhaps they simply have too much hw in other classes they decided to go to sleep and try to finish it(or copy) the next day.

I don’t believe there is a correlation between hw and tests/exam to be honest. Basically if you know the stuffs then you’re good. Also some hw tend to be harder than the actual exams.

I will admit, however that I cheated on tests several time. I have no regret, mainly because it usually a one-two problem thing. Also I had never gotten a 100 on a test (not no quiz or “quizams”) since… well last year. Cheating is, dangerous and it will hurt the cheater. But consider a class like Algebra 2. Basically we won’t need it till like the SAT. If someone were to cheat, oh well. They won’t need it and will most likely forget it in the near future. Of course some classes like Chemistry and US history are essential to remember. Especially when only very few Americans can accurately named the first 5 presidents.

Yeah, when I’m not able to finish it the previous night. I don’t really care if other people copy my homework either; it’s just homework, and I’m definitely willing to help you out if you need it.

No, my school is really strict on plagiarism and thus becus of paranoia no one is willing to let others copy their homework. Except at my friend’s school copying homework is really common that no one really feels bad about doing it… there you can make a good amount of profit by selling your homework to be copied, essays, etc.

Not usually. I had to copy a world cultures map earlier this year, but only part of it actually.
A lot of times (particularly in math and science), I’ll do the homework then compare answers with others. Doesn’t really count, but I guess there’s copying involved.

We can’t copy English homework at my school. The teacher always notices when the work of two different people looks the same and yells at us. With math and such you can’t really tell.

Never copied anyone. Didn’t let anyone copy my homework this school year. Why would you let someone copy off all your hard work in a matter of seconds?

To keep them from annoying you.

Some people really don’t get it. u can take minutes to type a paragraph but it can be read in seconds. Same apply to hw.

Corrected.

Only if I forgot to do it and it’s a worksheet or bookwork- something totally objective. I would never even TRY to copy an essay or summary that requires individual thoughts.

Only if I forget about it. I usually don’t like copying especially if it’s for a class I want to learn in like Trig or Physics.

No I don’t ever copy work but there’s this girl who sits next to me in maths and she’s always copying me and then she tells me what she got and I asks if I got the same lol… I just pretend I don’t notice her copying me :p
