We get several cards during the holidays and have usually displayed them through the first of the year. Displayed them on the mantle, used a card holder of some kind or the other initially. I’ve seen double sided sticky ribbon/tape on a mantle or a doorway being used to display cards. Any other creative ideas? I tried a snowflake decoration from Hallmark yesterday, but the swirls don’t hold the cards in tight - so it really wasn’t possible to display several of them.

I’m not creative. I slap them on the pantry door with a piece of scotch tape! At work my business holiday cards are slapped up on my white board the same way. Never claimed to be artistic…

Most of the cards we get at home and in the office are digital, but I’m too lazy to make a slideshow.

If you’re on Pinterest, search “display holiday cards” and you’ll get a plethora of ideas!

A couple cute I’ve seen (but we don’t get many cards since I don’t send them) but not tried:
Hang thick red velvety ribbon over cabinet/hutch/interior doors and then attach cards down the ribbon.
Have a pretty glass dome? Place Christmas cards inside the dome- gathered and standing up in a bunch.

String lights on your staircase and then attach cards along the string with small clothespins.

Run string across like a clothes line wherever…doorways, windowsills, windows.
Mini clothes pins for those card/pix, vertical cards.
If you have venetian blinds you don’t open, horizontal cards get put between the slats.

Stick the cards on the wall using tape and form a “chair rail” inside the guest bathroom.

I have fairly thick red velvet ribbon that I string across the built-ins on either side of the fireplace and I have the cards over the ribbon. My favorites get a place on the mantel.

One of our neighbors hangs a runner over the downstairs hall closet (attaches to the inside of the door) and then attaches the cards with pins.

I tape them to the windows the french door in my living room. I love the way it looks.

For years I taped them to the pantry door, I would make them in the shape of a Christmas tree. But now that I am an “empty-nester” and have a little more time I made a string art Christmas Tree on the wall using 3M clips and yarn. I got mini clothespins to attach the cards.
tx5athome - that string art tree is beautiful. I am trying to see if I can convince D to do that
I don’t know why I didn’t think of the string and clips idea - D has this up at her dorm to just display pictures. I think we’ll go this route this year.

abasket - haven’t logged on pinterest - am afraid that if I did log on, I’d never be able to get any work done :)

We have a column in the kitchen so I tape them around all four sides. Once that fills up, I tape around the sliders to the deck. None of the purchased card holders ever held enough. I love seeing them and the house looks empty once they come down.

I use french memo boards and just tuck them in as they arrive. My boards are red and gold so they are very festive and fun to look at.

I just lay them on top of framed pictures I already have on a sofa table in my family room.

I tape them on the molding around the opening between living room and dining room. Start with across the top, then down the sides as they accrue.

Real Simple magazine had something recently about how to display cards - check their website , it was very recent.

We have post & beam structure in our house and I tack them up on the posts around the house. I also try to group families in certain areas by cards they have sent in the past, it’s fun to post up to 10 cards from the same family and see how the kids have grown from year to year.

I hang them on my shutters.

And I always hang a “Three Kings” card above the front door. One of my sisters always sends one every year.
