I eat real fast food as seldom as possible…usually once or twice a year. My H brought me home an egg mcmuffin the other day and do you know they list the fat/calories/sugar/protein etc. on the package now? The egg mcmuffin had over 700 grams of sodium. I ate half of it.

I like Panera and any fast food soup & salad type places. I really dislike sandwiches altogether. Never heard of Cosi or Noodles & Company.

To be perfectly honest, I rarely eat at chain restaurants if I can help it. I do like the variety of Cheesecake Factory, but that’s about it and they are not fast food. Wendy’s baked potato or chili isn’t bad if that’s the only thing around.

The busiest restaurant in my neck of the woods is a mom & pop breakfast & lunch only place with the freshest ingredients and healthy portions…there is always a line out the door. Would rather wait in that line then eat fast food.

NYMomof2 - you should definitely stop and it would be fun to meet up. I really only go to Walters when my youngest is on vacation here, but they really are good hotdogs. I don’t figure one every few months is going to kill me - even with curley fries on the side.

We used to eat fast food a lot. In the last year we’ve changed our eating habits for health and weight loss. We still eat out but order way differently …salads at Panera and Chik-fil-a, Thai food with lots of veggies and minimal sauce, Chili from Wendy’s occasionally, sometimes grilled chicken and green beans from KFC when we’re on the road.

We don’t eat hamburgers/hot dogs/subs/ potatoes of any kind or pasta/ pizza anymore which used to be weekly fare. We eat very little red meat and substitute frozen yogurt for the soft serve ice cream and milkshakes that we used to eat all the time.

Annual guilty pleasure…in March I get a couple McDonald’s shamrock shakes, yes those green minty things. I love 'em!

Bobby Flay’s for some reason doesn’t qualify as fast food in my mind. That’s my favorite. In reality it’s probably worse than Burger King or Wendy’s but who can resist their bacon blue cheese burger and sweet potato fries once in a while??

Wow - I watch my fat grams like a hawk most days, but splurge for a burger at least once a week. Love ChicFilA, but I get the grilled chicken sandwich more than I get the fried and happily, I don’t like their fries at all.

I find that allowing myself to have a plain cheeseburger at McD’s once a week, rather than lust after it until I breakdown and get a quarterPounder works better for me.

I don’t make a habit of fast food, but the few times a year I eat it, I really enjoy it. I remember as a kid living in CA and eating my first Whopper. It seemed enormous! Were they bigger then or was it just because I was littler?

Rarely eat fast food. It used to be a treat, now it’s a punishment (especially to my gastrointestinal system ) My wife is a great cook. We use no salt and no sugar, but probably a little too much fat.

fauxmaven, re: Hospital infections. I knew I read an article about this recently (sorry I didn’t show this to you before your surgery) :

Plenty of great food options in Columbus! Short North has a good variety of restaurants, max and ermas is a Columbus family type restaurant popular for years, Old Bag of Nails has great pub food. just recently went to BJ’s in Columbus - lots of healthy options and lots of not so healthy! He’ll have no trouble eating! Oh, and there is a famous hot dog dive downtown (Frank’s???) that is a must experience!

Now that In N Out is close…about once every 3-4 weeks, protein style, grilled onions and FRIES :). Pinks:once a year. Tommy’s-gosh over 30 yrs :(. Otherwise pretty healthy except I never met a salt shaker I didn’t like.

Chick-Fil-A, KFC extra crispy chicken, Chipotle, Willy’s, Moe’s (all burrito joints), Five Guys, Firehouse Subs and Publix pre-prepared foods are my favorites.

I love “Eat This Not That” and have the app on my ipad. [The 10 Worst Fast Food Meals | Eat This, Not That](<a href=“Hearst Magazines”>Hearst Magazines)

I eat fast food from time to time, depending on what’s going on in my life. We do have fast food sometimes in connection with travel, just because it’s SO convenient. Does pizza count as fast food? What about Panda Express? What about ethnic plate lunches? We do a lot of plate lunches & casual dining–probably several times/week. LOVE it!

Have a burger maybe a few times/year and rarely ever had fried chicken or fried fish.

I love Subway’s Veggie Delight. I get it with spinach, tomatoes, cilantro, black olives, cucumbers and some chipotle dressing. Delicious and low cal.

I love Subway’s Veggie Delight, too, TatinG, although it’s been a while since I’ve had it. I avoid large bready things these days. My subway doesn’t have spinach or cilantro, though. Are you in CA?

I do better having the occasional fast food treat (like a hot dog a couple of times a year), but I’ve lost my taste for things like McD’s burgers and fries.

Yes, I am in Cal. When I travel to the midwest, for example, I notice that they often don’t have spinach and almost never have cilantro. For me, it’s the cilantro that gives the sandwich a little punch. And spinach is better nutritionally than iceberg lettuce.

I will occasionally have a Dunkin Donuts egg white turkey sausage flatbread sandwich (usually when I have to catch a train over the lunch hour), and when I’m on the road, once in a blue moon I will have a Taco Bell bean burrito. Haven’t done any other kind of fast food since my kids were toddlers. Unless you count pizza.

Depends on what you consider fast food. Now that school sports are (almost) over, the only time fast food really gets eaten by the family is when we’re on a long distance road trip (we like to have 10 minute gas fill up, bathroom & pick up lunch stops.) I will occasionally stop at McDonalds for some french fries (love them!) or a baked potato from Wendy’s (there’s one across from my office & it’s an inexpensive & relatively healthy option if I don’t get the sour cream.)

I don’t consider Chipotle fast food and I have that about once a week.
