Do you eat fast food ?

I never have liked fast food like Wendy’s ,Burger King ,etc . My only exception is a place like 5 Guys . Curious about the eating habits of people in CC Land . Do you mostly eat healthy food ? Low sodium ,low fat ,etc . BTW ,I am getting better and can probably start back to part time teaching on April 23 . Yay ! ( Had surgery recently ,and got nasty post-op infection )

Yes, healthy foods only. Haven’t been to a fast food in ages. Glad you’re feeling better!

The rates of post-op infections seem way too high. I had one too after appendix surgery and was sicker than I was pre-surgery. Terrible.
I like Wendy’s for chili and the spicy chicken sandwich. McD’s for the Egg McMuffin and coffee. 5 Guys, Chipotle, local Asian places for teriyaki, Pho soup and sandwiches.

I don’t do fast food very often, but if I ever get a burger, it’s a Whataburger, but only at the one in the little west Texas town where we have a lake house.

Is Noodles and Company fast food? I love the place.

I also have a weakness for Egg McMuffins. Most of the other stuff at McDonald’s is boring, except maybe for the soft-serve ice cream.

In N Out Burgers, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Rubio’s (fish tacos), 5 guys, Runzas (Omaha local fast food chain). Don’t eat fast food often, but I love the food at these places.

Also love Egg McMuffins, Marian!

Chick-fil-A is my all time fave! It is definitely a cut above other “fast food” places. I go there maybe once a month or once every 2 months… so not incredibly often.

Also like 5 Guys - but probably go there once a year!

Only time I will do Wendy’s or McDonald’s is if I’m traveling/in an airport and desperate, ha ha. I will get soft-serve ice cream/milkshakes from anywhere for a special treat. : -)

The only fast food I eat is Walter’s Hotdogs which Gourmet magazine said were the best in America. [Walter’s Hot Dog Stand - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Walter's Hot Dog Stand - Wikipedia)

We usually have a Dunkin Donut if we drive to relatives (4+ hour drives).

Other than DD I can’t remember the last time I ate in a chain fast food restaurant.

Is Panera a "casual dining restaurant " ? I consider Chipolte more of an eatery ,not fast food ,although it is fast . The ingredients are never frozen . I suppose I define fast food as unhealthy food ,laced with preservatives ,fat ,and sugar . I do drink iced coffee at Dunkin Donuts however .

I can’t stand McDonald’s or Burger King, but will eat sandwiches at Dunkin Donuts, and I really like Cosi.

For those of you who like those awful egg mcmuffin, try a Cosi’s breakfast sandwich sometime. It’s a fresh egg with cheese, bacon, and tomato on a fresh bagel. It even costs less than an egg mcmuffin.

I eat fast food way too often. A younger coworker laughed at me when I had a Big Mac for lunch one day. She thought I was smarter than that. Panda Express and Potbelly are my favorites.

Best wishes on the return to teaching.

I do not generally eat fast food. Although I had a burger back in November at Bobby Flay’s Burger Palace when I was visiting my daughter in DC. I haven’t in a long time, but I will eat a fried chicken sandwich at a place like Wendy’s in a pinch. And, I would eat fried chicken at KFC, etc. if I were travelling and had to.

I eat a diet that is high fat (50% of my calories), moderately low carb (25% of my calories), and moderately high protein (25% of my calories). It seems to be pretty healthy. I’ve lost 90 pounds and have OK to fantastic test markers.

Any good food in Columbus, OH ?My son #3 is going to grad school to earn a PhD . What are some chains or eateries not to be missed ? My son doesn’t eat red meat . Any great healthy places ? Best french fries ? I really love 5 Guys fries for a special treat .

I also like Noodles and company. It never seems really fast though.

I normally eat really healthy because of H - I eat what he serves. But I do love KFC, extra crispy. I like Big Mac, chicken wings from any where, and hot dogs from NYC street carte.

fauxmaven – I second Marian’s recommendation of Noodles & Company and there are several locations in Columbus. It is a fast casual pasta chain based in Colorado and features Asian, Mediterrean and American. They also have soups, salads and sandwiches. We are regulars!

I will admit to liking hot dogs once in a while. Last week I was on an Amtrak train at dinner time, and by the time I went to the cafe car, they had run out of absolutely everything except hot dogs. I had one and enjoyed it thoroughly.

mathmom, I’ve driven by Walter’s a million times and never stopped. Maybe we should meet there sometime?

I always thought hot dogs were 1 of the worst things one could eat -all that sodium ,nitrates and fat ! Whole foods has some pretty good healthy hot dogs you should consider . Just an idea .

I haven’t had fast food in years, since my sons were much younger. I do have soft-service ice cream from Carvel during the summertime, but that’s a special treat and not a meal.

I couldn’t eat fast food. If I were starving, I guess I’d have to, but it wouldn’t be voluntary.

Can’t pass up a hot dog at Costco!
