We watch a lot of tv…“good” stuff, junque (elegant junk), reality…does it help having family in the business? Yes. Is there entertainment? Yes siree.

Cancelled Cable TV service two years ago. Digital antennae gets the local broadcasts.
NBC Nightly News, the PBS News Hour, CBS Sunday Morning. As for theatrical TV, Modern Family is the only thing I hate to miss. The new ‘Person of Interest’ on CBS has its qualities. Typically, unless a documentary is on, my TV is turned off by 8PM.

Still trying to make my way through all the DVD movies I’ve purchased in the last two years. Looking to install a tuner card in the PC so I can record TV.

Good Wife, Blue Bloods, Revenge, Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, CSI Miami (am I the only David Caruso fan out there?), Person of Interest, Law and Order SVU, some football, Pan Am

CSI, CSI Miami, CSI NY (favorite), Revenge. I watch these on my computer. I have a triple-monitor system, left monitor is Unix, middle desktop is browser + email, right monitor is a show. I often don’t watch the show - just listen to it. During commercials, I just look at the stuff on the other monitors.

David Caruso portrays an interesting personality but I much prefer the storylines and personal interactions of CSI NY over CSI Miami. I did go back and watch the old CSI NY seasons but I didn’t do so with CSI or CSI Miami.

My favorite genre is Science Fiction. Unfortunately the networks don’t seem to care about this segment as production costs are high and the number of interested viewers apparently low. The SyFy channel brought in WWF (Worldwide Wrestling) to replace a few popular shows - they’ve also brought in reality-shows. Everytime a show looks promising, it gets killed off.

Of course, we watch–wait for it–Hawaii 5-0 (the new series). It’s OK but D (our cinema major) is not a fan. We like the scenery & try to figure out where different parts were shot. My neighbors like watching the old series on mute & similarly try to figure out where parts were shot. Every once in a while, we’ll also watch a special, especially some documentary on public TV–maybe a few times/year. Not sure we’re getting our $15/month worth with cable.

We don’t have cable, so, yes.
