I hang my shirts up with clothes hangers and the neck area always gets larger and stretched out! Any suggestions? I don’t have a wardrobe to put them in.

if you don’t have a wardrobe…

i usually fold my shirts and stick them in my drawers where my textbooks are supposed to go, lol

I only hang my button-up shirts and some of my sweaters on hangers. With the sweaters, I fold them over a plastic hanger like this one: <a href=“Royalty-Free Stock Photos, Creative Images & Vectors | News, Fashion, and Entertainment imagery - Getty Images”>Royalty-Free Stock Photos, Creative Images & Vectors | News, Fashion, and Entertainment imagery - Getty Images;

I’d suggest either folding the shirts over the hanger or being very careful when you put them on/take them off the hanger to avoid stretching them.

What sort of hangers are you using, and for what sorts of shirts? As for me, I hang polo shirts, dress shirts, jackets/sweaters, and costume pieces on plastic hangers, and I fold (or crumple) t-shirts into my dresser.

Wire hangers may very well have a tendency to stretch the necklines, but if you use a nicer plastic or even wooden hanger, I don’t think it should do that.

I hang my jackets, button-ups, etc…
but I fold my tshirts -polos, crew neck tops, strappy tops and sweaters and hoodies- in my closet that has little square compartments, nicely categorised into each type of shirt/sweaters/etc…
Don’t hang up tshirts!! it will totally ruin the neckline in the longrun.
You could half-fold the tshirts, and hang them on the bottom part of the triangle of the hangers (…)

Does the neckline get stretched out just by hanging them or is it that you have to stretch them to get it on the hanger? Why not just stick it through the bottom instead of the neck part?

No need to hang polos or t-shrits (!). just fold 'em and leave the hangers for nice button-downs, jackets etc.

zantedeschia, just having the t-shirts held by the neckline will cause that area to stretch.

Wow, I didn’t really know/notice that. I hang ALL my clothes-- t-shirts, polos, even some tanktops. I don’t even own drawers.

Good God. Could your closet double as a three-car garage?

lol, well I have quite the shopping addiction and my closet’s not even that big so it’s REALLY full and things start falling out all the time. If I had a walk-in closet, I’d totally be one of those people to live in my closet and put all my clothes in my room.

I need a bigger closet, even though I don’t hang up most of my clothes. I have one of those closets that are about three feet wide, and only deep enough for a small row of clothes. So my closet is basically exploding, mostly due to my shoes (I love shoes), purses (I love purses even more!), and old school supplies, plus costumes.
