On the course description it says the prereqs are “MA 15900 or MA 15400 with a grade of C or higher or
placement by departmental exam.” Looking at the course list, MA 15900 is precalculus and 15400 is Algebra and Trig II, Does it matter if you take precalculus at high school or does it have to be at the college?
Would just showing them my high school transcript suffice? I got an A in precalculus junior year but I took at my high school so I am worried they won’t accept it.
If it matters, I am still in high school(soon to be senior) and I am taking the course through dual-enrollment at a local 4 year university.
They also have [this document](https://www.ipfw.edu/dotAsset/67e35cac-71ad-41c5-ad63-866d309f2f8f.pdf) that lists the courses you can take after passing the placement exam. It’s really common for dual-enrollment students to take math classes, so I’m sure you’ll be able to register for this course.
Yep, you found the college I will dual-enroll at, IPFW. They have a dual enrollment program with my school. I know for sure I can register since I know a lot of kids from my school who were able to take Calc 2 senior year since they took Calc AB junior year and my school doesn’t offer BC.
The really weird thing is that I took ENG W131-Elementary Composition I last year and I didn’t have to take a placement test and I didn’t take W129 or do any of the pre-reqs listed. So I guess I am safe :)? Guess I will just register and see if they make me do anything.
So if I register and they don’t say anything about a placement test then I don’t have anything to worry about right? They didn’t make me do an English placement test so maybe I won’t do a math one?
