In the future, I want to write articles for international journals during my senior years of study. So far, I know only a few international academic publishers, for example, Dorma Journals, that publish international journals in different fields of education. Do you know any similar publishers? I would like to prepare a base, where I can try to write to, in advance.
I am not quite sure that I understand. Are you currently a college student?
There are many highly-regarded international journals in various fields, but of course they are very selective about what they publish.
There are then a whole bunch of author-pay journals which are sometimes identified as predatory journals in the sense they are just taking money from authors and not really doing any sort of peer review, serious editing, or otherwise selecting for quality of work.
Dorma Journals has been identified as a possible such predatory journal publisher by sites such as Beall’s List. And in fact you could look that list up if you wanted a lot more examples, but I am skeptical that is really useful.
You should consult with your professors who have published papers. Also go to your campus library, or advising center and see if they can help you find resources.
Yes, and you should be very aware of this as they are often so poorly regarded that it is better not to publish at all than to publish in one of them. They can be an academic reputation killer.
Thank you very much for the answers!
Dorma Journals is a good start, but there are several other reputable international academic publishers you can consider.
Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, and Wiley are among the prominent publishers that offer a wide range of academic journals across various fields. These publishers have established themselves as leaders in academic publishing and provide platforms for researchers to share their work on an international scale.
Additionally, depending on your specific field of study, there may be niche publishers that focus on particular disciplines. Exploring options like Sage Publications, Cambridge University Press, or Oxford University Press could lead you to journals tailored to your academic interests.
I don’t know if you found your answers yet, but I hope this will help you or someone in the future
