I was shock to find out that people actually let others use their credit card. An acquaintance of mine use her boyfriends credit card while purchasing some food in a restaurant, and she doesn’t seem to be bothered by it. I ask her why she did it and she saud that her boyfriend knows and she also let her boyfriend use hers. Is this normal? Like having your boyfriend/girlfriend or friend or family to use your credit card? I have never let someone nor use someone else’s card. With the increasing identity theft crime, why would someone choose to do this?

Why do you care what other people do? That’s their business.

i would not do this unless i was married.
and even then, it wouldn’t be immediate.

as long as it can be paid for, i guess its good to use it becacuse then it helps build their credit.

i wouldnt let anyone use my credit card (if i had one) except for my boyfriend for like gas and such, things he would be giving me money for after anyways, just to build my credit. but my sisters father lets her and my mother use his card all of the time, because he wants to help them pay for things. my sister also lets my mom use her card for some things (but this is because my mother doesnt have a card)

Friend? No.
Whomever I’m dating? No.
Family? Yes.

I don’t see what’s wrong with family. My parents probably have enough information on me to steal my identity if they wanted without my credit card…

God no. [10000 char]

i don’t let anyone use my credit card. if someone wants to use it, i want them to give me the money right away or give me proof that they’ll have the money. i don’t pay interest on my credit card so i’m not about to start doing that because of someone else.

I have a CC that’s linked to my parents’ account, but I use it only for groceries and textbooks. I would never let anyone (except for my parents who don’t need it anyway) use my CC. There are certain friends whom I’d trust not to abuse my CC, but I would still feel uncomfortable leaving something so personal in someone else’s possession.

No I’ll buy something for them but I wouldn’t hand them my card for them to buy something.

No. Nobody is using my cards except me. (At the time being, anyways. Naturally once I get married, etc, things change)

My parents gave me a card that’s linked to one of their accounts, though, for emergencies.

You should never give your credit card to someone else. It only takes 5 seconds to write down the number and the code on the back, and then they can use it whenever they want.

Family is ok, but why would your parents need to use your credit card?

That said, you shouldn’t be too shocked. There are lots of people who carry a balance on their credit card from month to month because they don’t pay it off in full, which should be the absolute last resort.

There are also people who get adjustable rate mortgages and then are surprised they can’t afford the payments when their rate goes up… apparently they didn’t consider the possibility of their rate going up when getting an ADJUSTABLE rate mortgage.
