Sad but true - I think our sleep woes can only be corrected by getting an adjustable bed, and that it won’t matter what kind of mattress is on it. Though apparently we could get a Temper-Pedic adjustable bed, with mattress, for a mere $11,000. When we first started dating 37 (!) years ago, we used to make fun of the Craftmatic Adjustable bed commercials (“Would you send me your free brochure without obligation, please?”). Now we could be on the commercial ourselves.

He snores and I have neck problems. I think that being able to raise the head of the bed to a 45 degree angle or higher would help. We do what we can with pillows but they aren’t very reliable. And then it takes 5 minutes to readjust them every time one of us gets out of bed.

We recently bit the $ bullet and bought 2 twin adjustable tempurpedic beds. We got a king bed frame, so it looks like a king, but sleeps like a twin, which is perfect. I have aches and pains from head to toe and sleep like I’m in a taco - head raised 1/2 way and foot all the way up. I got rid of the 10 pillows I used every night! H sleeps with head raised a little, the rest flat. It really is perfect for us. I am always hot, but haven’t had a problem with this bed. I hurt less and sleep better.

23 depends on the mattress. My current Stearns and Foster gets flipped every 6 months and is their best mattress, and I expect it to last forever. It is essentially two mattresses and extremely comfortable.

Everytime I look at this thread I think it is saying “mistress”. = Do you love your mistress?

I love my mattress also. It’s a Sealy/Serta (can’t remember which) that has a construction similar to Tempurpedic (sp)., so a lot less expensive.

It has been serveral years now, and I love getting into bed at night. It has support but also I feel it conforms to me. Now that I think about it, it can feel like sleeping on sand, which I also love!

It can be hot during the summer, but it really hasn’t been too much of a problem, even though we live in NorthernCal and it gets quite hot in the summer. We have a ceiling fan, and only use a down comforter as a topper so it breathes very well. Even while going through menopause, it wasn’t a real issue.

We also have the memory foam pillows that are curved and I really find those to be so supportive.
