Do you make friends easily in college?

i wanted to go to UCSD cause most of my friends are going there. i wanted people that i know so i won feel as alone.
However, i was rejected from UCSD but i was accepted to UCSB.
im planning to live in a dorm.
my question is if its easy to make friends in college.

can you please share some experiences whether they are good or bad?

My experience is that if you are friendly and outgoing, you'll have no problem making many acquaintances in college.

Absolutely, dorms are built for meeting people; they have common study lounges, socials, etc. The rooms in my dorm connected to the main hallway and an open door was an invitation for a conversation. There are also student groups with invitation events for the first month or so.

I heard that as long as you're not openly rude to others, making friends in college is a sinch. This is because everyone in college is also afraid that they may end up with no friends.

I would love to stay tune for more replies. I'm in high school right now and I'm having trouble finding a clique in my junior year.

You will be fine, buddy. Honestly, the more complex question is once you make your friends, when will you let your high school friends go?

Are freshman college students all that much different from high schoolers? (interests, what they like to talk about, etc)

Because I don't really "fit in" at my school although many people say that I have good wit and humor. My parents tell me that the reason I don't have a clique is because I moved to my school a little late and not because of my personality...
