Do you need to accept scholarships that have been offered to you?

I received the Founder’s Scholarship for the university, but I don’t know if I need to accept it or if it’s automatically given to me. Do I need to accept it, and if so, what is the deadline, and where can I accept it?

When you were notified that you received it, did the letter specify anything about accepting it? My daughter was just notified of a scholarship from the school she is going to. The letter specifically said that she did not need to do anything except declare her intention to enroll. When we went on the fin. aid. page of her school, it listed her financial aid package and the scholarship award was listed there. The other things she was offered (loans, work study) had to be accepted online but the scholarship was just typed in for her. In other words, they assume that if you are going to the school you will want the free money. We do!!!

If you are nervous about missing a deadline, you could e-mail or call the fin. aid office.

Congratulations on your award!!! I hear Syracuse is a great school!
