I’ve yet to get a definitive answer on this.
I’ve read the forums and some say you absolutely need to take everything listed, while several counselors I’ve spoken say that if you don’t take 1-3 it’s not a big deal at all.

Will anyone with some expertise please chime in? My major is Computer Science, with a 3.4 overall GPA. However, if you’re only taking into account all of my major-related courses, I’ve got a 4.0.

On assist.org, Cal State Fullerton, San Diego State, Cal Poly Pomona and UC San Diego all list Math 171 (Discrete Mathematics), while the other half of the schools I’m looking into don’t require that class at all.

Also, UC Riverside, Cal Poly Pomona, Long Beach and Fullerton all have Biology 101 listed on there, while no other schools do.

My question is this: can I still be accepted to said schools without taking Math 171/Biol 101 or do I absolutely have to take them to even be considered?
