Do you pay by classes or by semester?

if it is semester, I wouldn’t really be saving money by getting AP credits…just time right?

Depends on whether you graduate earlier due to having less credits to earn while at UT. Also, you often get out of the giant intro-level classes that suck (or so I’ve heard).

Don’t underestimate the value of time. Not only do you get to dodge some of the giant lecture classes as cone23 mentioned, but it frees up your schedule, allowing you to take fewer classes a semester (allowing you to do better in each class) or actually being able to take a class which is interesting to you instead of having to fill your schedule up with required classes.

you pay the same for 12+ hours, which is full time, and you pay less ifyou aren’t enrolled full time.

But AP is very convenient in that it will let you take 12 hours per semester consistently instead of 15–the extra 3 hours makes a big difference. Or it will let you take an interesting class instead of a boring required one.
