do you put 4.3 or 4.0 for GPA?

A question for stanford students. Do you put 4.0 as your max GPA or 4.3? I’m doing my resume and I feel the max should be 4.3 but A+ is kinda rare since you have to work the extra credits to get those. Any ideas?

huh? Why do I not remember putting my GPA at all onto the application?

4.0/4.0 looks more impressive…there is something about a 4.3 that gives the illusion of grade inflation

but Stanford gives you 4.3 if you got A+ so technically the max GPA is 4.3. Is it OK to mention 4.0 as the max GPA? (seems unethical but many people do that)

It’s not a max GPA per se, but rather the standard target GPA. The Stanford system is out of 4.0. For those lucky enough to get an A+, they get the reward of a fairly substantial boost to their number. I would not think this is unethical at all. Not to mention that there are very few people with GPAs over 4.0 anyway.
