That if everyone had an equal chance that out of 1000 of us, only 83 (or possibly less) will be picked to attend Yale.

Add in admission factors and obviously your chances go up or down some what but that fact still remains…

On CC, the admission rate is much, much higher.

yeahhhhhh but here at CC we like to go hard

so really it’s more like out of 1000, 999.5 will be accepted.

I guess i’m going to be that .5 so you all rest in peace :)

I mean, admissions statistics aren’t fine and dandy for schools like Yale for a reason - they really are the most selective.

If your app is already in, your interview done, and you’ve sent in your supplementary stuff already, there isn’t much you can do. Becoming despondent over your speculation on admission isn’t healthy.

Disastrous, go do something fun (I suggest either a shooting range or Wii…or if you have the PS3, pre order Mirror’s Edge…it’s going to be phenomenal)

^or get mgs4… that’s a good game

only (only…) 4 and a half weeks until admissions decisions!

Oh man. MG is so goood.

The final salute at Arlington. So epic.

the entire MG series is a masterpiece

I’m not stressed at all about this decision. I hope it didn’t come across like that. I realize there is nothing I can do and therefore I am perfectly calm. I expect a rejection. I was just simply pointing out that fact to those people who keep posting on other chance threads “ooh you have a good chance to get into Yale”. Well even if they had an equal chance… only 86 out of 1000 will get in (lower this year probably)

MGS4 is terrible. Now, I’m hardly a gamer, but my little brother bought this game that was heralded as the best thing ever by all these gamer mags/sites and played it hoping for something fun. The storyline is absurdly stupid, filled with asinine technobabble about the “war economy” that apparently can be saved by a guy with camo and a stun knife (guns too, but the stun is the signature). The cinematics are painful, alternating between poop jokes and syrupy “emotional” bits while trying to advance a story that is way too grand in scope. The boss battles and evil aliens don’t make any sense. The premise for the gameplay is cool, but when you add an apocalyptic extraterrestrial backdrop it doesn’t hold water. Camo + knife + covert ops + the end of the world? For the life of me, I cannot understand the unanimous rave reviews.

you gotta play the entire thing from mgs1 to mgs4 in order to understand it… some people just don’t like these types of games… i love it

anyway, this is a yale thread, not a MGS thread, lol

Way to keep things on point Peyton. You’re pretty good.

I have no idea what MG is…

Metal Gear.

I suggest going through the bins at your local game store and renting/purchasing (borrow from friends, whichever), Metal Gear Solid, MGS2 MGS3 and MGS4.

If anything, the musical scores are well arranged, and there is actually some substantial development of plot.
