<p>Every year we receive cards with school photos of friend’s children enclosed. I have a large box where I keep all the old cards and photos, but have reached a point where I’d like to start clearing out our accumulated “stuff”. I can’t bring myself to throw away all those smiling faces, what do others do?</p>
<p>I must be hard hearted. I toss nearly all cards after Epiphany. I’ve kept a few on which the grandparents wrote notes, and the last one my Dad was able to sign. Even though we enjoy seeing most of them, I don’t even keep photo cards of relatives much less anyone else. The ones that puzzle me (and often are tossed after opening) are the photo cards of kids from business associates with whom we have no social relationship; I didn’t even know they had children.</p>
<p>I cut out the picture from the card and save just that</p>
<p>We toss 'em at this point. We have too many pictures of our own kids.</p>
<p>I got a photo card from a dental practice I haven’t visited in more than 10 years, that went straight to trash. I think I’ll just save the kid photos from our closest friends, it’s fun to see how they’ve changed over the years. Others are sort of sad reminders of a lost friendship or kids whose lives took downward spirals after K-12. </p>
<p>I used to save a few of my nieces and nephews but I finally tossed those in a fit of cleaning out the picture drawer several years ago. I don’t save any of those pictures anymore. With the ease of seeing pictures of the wee ones online now or in emails there is no point. </p>
<p>I don’t have any friends with young kids anymore - but when I did - they went straight into the bin. </p>
<p>I have a xmas basket that I keep only the cards with a pic on them. I have fun looking through them every year. This year I am framing some of the old pics as xmas gifts for 3 good friends.</p>
<p>I’m not a clutter person, nor am I sentimental with cards. I practically open cards up over the trash can except hubby is so horrified. So I let it languish on the kitchen desk until the cleaning lady comes and I scoop them up and toss them. </p>
<p>I <em>used to</em> save them each year in large bundles with rubber bands around them. Now I throw them away sometime after New Years.</p>

<p>Toss! I do save some of great nieces and nephews, but don’t save photos of friends’ kids.</p>
<p>I usually stuff them all into a gallon zip-lock to look at the next year as I write to each friend. “I’m so glad Tabitha is happy at UW, she has grown into such a beautiful young lady”.
I recently found a bunch of these baggies, and it was fun to look back. After that I tossed them. I don’t even have time to put my own family photos into albums.
ETA - back when I liked a fridge covered with photos I displayed them by the dozen. It was an interesting conversation starter.</p>
<p>I typically do not save them, but I try to send some kind of picture each year, or do a picture card. I do not expect people to save pictures of my kids. Funny story - when my kids were young, we took them to Sears or someplace each year, and usually had a card made with them, in their PJs, by the fake tree. At least one friend asked me if I used the same card for multiple years. People did like watching them grow, through a similar picture each year. </p>

<p>No…I don’t keep them forever. When I get the current one, I compare it to the last one…and toss the older one. </p>
<p>I keep my Christmas cards for a year. I just unpacked my 2013 cards…and had fun looking at the family photos. Then I tossed them!</p>
<p>I keep them. I used to make an annual photo album of all the pictures I took in a year, and I stuffed the holiday card photos in the back. I stopped making these albums a couple years ago (making photobooks instead), and haven’t figured out what to do with the holiday card photos – although we are getting fewer every year and most of the kids are grown up. </p>
<p>We do a “kids” picture display on the refrigerator over the holidays - any holiday cards w/pics or the stand alone pics that get sent get put on the refrigerator with some christmas magnets we have. After the holidays we take them down and dispose of most of them, keep a few that are especially adorable or of my favorite nephews. :)</p>
<p>I toss the little darlings when we take down our decorations.</p>
