Hello, I’m planning on applying in January for the Fall 2026 term at UIUC. I would be transferring from a community college. My cumulative GPA is a 3.093 and I haven’t really done much extracurriculars besides one club because I’m busy working. The major I am applying for is Art History in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, and for my second choice, Gender & Women’s Studies. Do you think I have a chance of getting in?
They require a 2.7. Now I don’t know if you’re a first or second year, what other aspects are needed and how they are evaluated but based on your GPA, yes you can get in.
Will you get in? I cannot say.
Good luck.
A job is a very good EC. I would not worry about this part.
In your situation I would make a strong effort to try to improve my grades as much as possible.
Does your community college have a pathway agreement with UIUC? Several do, and if you meet the minimum requirements, you are guaranteed admission.
This ^^^. It has been getting more difficult getting into Illinois the last few year’s.
If in Chicago proper these are examples of some and I would reach out to your community College counselor and ask.

Also I believe this is for having at least 30 credits. For lots of colleges it seems to be easier when transferring into Junior year.
