I put Biochemical engineering. However, I’m actually not sure what I raelly want to do in the future. Do you think I should switch my major to “undecided” now? (Is it hard to do so?) Because I heard that Biochemcial engineering is so hard; I don’t think I will be able to handle it if I am not very intersted in it. By the way, I’m an incoming freshman :P

you have plenty of time to do that. at orientation, just make your fall schedule all ge’s so you have a whole semester to meet with your counselors and plan what you want to do. i’m not sure how hard it would be to switch right NOW, but i definitely wouldn’t stress out about it :)

If you are not too sure, I recommend you at least take the Intro to ____ Engineering course that relates to your major, which will help you immensely in making a final decision. If you take all GEs you won’t really know anything more at the end than you know right now. The Intro course is designed for people just like you. It is meant to be kind of hard but interesting too, so you will have a feel for what is in store.

If you stay within the engineering school, even as an undecided engineer, you’ll have access to department-specific advisors. If you just list general undecided, then you get advisors from the College of Letters Arts and Sciences, who are much busier, especially at the beginning of the year.
