For example, I am Samoan, white, & Asian… On my application I selected all 3 of those boxes. Does that put me at a disdvantage compared to if I just selected Samoan or Asian on my application?

NO. In fact, it may be an advantage since multicultural students tend to be fewer than Hispanics or African American identifying applicants. Most schools report the percentage of students self identifying as multi-cultural.
