Do you think [unrelated] extracurricular experiences should be listed on a resum

You should. Everything helps if you do not have any experience and you are just a recent grad. You can also get lucky and the recruiter or your future boss might be a huge fan of crew and that bit of extracurricular stands out to him. Stuff like that happens much more often than you think.

Yes! Since I have minimal work experience, I was told to put things like travel on there because I have been to a bunch of countries. Another one of my hobbies is yoyoing. I was told to put that on there because it is unique and something I am genuinely interested in. I have a collection of 32 yoyos, and I have attended state yoyo competitions.

The way I look it is, is that its just a continuation of trying to find a hook to make you stand out. You did the same thing for college apps, you’re now doing the same thing for a job.

if you can’t fill the space with directly relevant other stuff, you should definitely include it. As one of the other posters mentioned, if you have a hobby in common with the boss, and the choices for the position are you and a someone else who has nothing in common, it is possible the boss will feel a bigger connection to you.

As long as it doesn’t push you over the one-page limit, sure why not.
