Do you think welfare laws should be altered?

Most states require people to get jobs after two years or their payments will be terminated. So do you think that they should be altered? Should payments be reduced to one year? Or expanded to three years? Should college students be given welfare?

Does someone have a paper due?

LOL. Good luck on discussing this topic without “going political”, which is a no-no on cc.

I was surprised to see that college students are not eligible for food stamps unless they are working 20 hours a week- so if you haven’t been able to find a job you are SOL. ( unless you have a dependent or qualify for worksudy)

That I disagree with-a full time student is already engaged fulltime in something that benefits society IMO.

The simple fact that the OP uses the term “welfare” makes the question unanswerable. There is no such thing. There are a variety of benefits covering different things available to different people for different reasons and they all have different criteria.

Well, let’s see. I am against welfare for oil companies and guess what…their profits are in the billion$ per quarter.
