Do you tip appliance delivery people?

And how much?

I never have.

No, but I give them a soda or cold water if they are installing the thing.

I only have $27 and I didnt want to give them a $20, but my basement is kinda a pita to get to.

They get paid to do it - they aren’t expecting a tip.

Tried to tip a gas company technician when she fixed a problem with our gas line on a cold Sunday night in the middle of winter. She wouldn’t take the tip. She had to replace the meter outside our house in the dark, cold and snow!

Add me to the no tip list for appliance delivery.

I tip. $5 if its an easy drop and run. If I paid extra for installation I don’t tip.

I do tip for appliance delivery, especially if it’s something heavy. Maybe I’m being stupid…I have been known to give $15-$20 per delivery person. I figure these guys are really working hard and can probably use the cash.

These guys, unlike restaurant staff, get paid real wages. Do you tip the UPS delivery driver? I certainly don’t

I used to when I owned a house. I would tip 10-20 depending on how much they do for me. Now I tip workers in my apartment building.

I usually tip the appliance delivery guys. I’m not sure I did years ago, but in my advancing age and declining physical ability give me a little more empathy for manual workers who do heavy jobs. Plus I can afford it more than I used to be able to.

Nope.

I usually don’t but my elderly dad does. He usually hopes the guys will be able to lift ONE more thing for him and is quite willing to pay for the extra help. He’s never been turned down.

I guess I have tipped a couple of times when we had a heavy grand piano moved! That was tricky, and I appreciated how careful the movers were.

I tipped enough so that the two workers can get a coffee.
They had to haul away the old one and hook the new one up, plus the delivery was the same as if we picked it up ourselves, so I figured they probably were not being paid much.
