Doctor Martin MacNeill Trial

The Second day of the Martin MacNeill trial is in progress with the prosecution calling its witnesses.

During opening arguments, the prosecution made the argument that Michele MacNeill, the wife who was allegedly murdered, did not want to have the facelift but did so on the insistence of her husband. That notion did not get supported very well, however, when the surgeon doing the facelift testified. It seemed that Michele was completely on board with having the facelift. Prosecutors also suggested that too many meds were prescribed and that Martin dictated what was prescribed. Much of this was also refuted by the prosecution witnesses during cross-examination.

During today’s testimony, the prosecution wanted to make the point that husband Martin MacNeill gave the wrong address when he called 911 so that responders were possibly delayed attending to his wife. Again, that got shot down when they replayed the call. Although hard to decipher at normal speed, he gave the correct address when they slowed it down.

Another point made by the prosecution yesterday, during opening arguments, was that the array of leftover prescription meds were all thrown away because Dr. MacNeill didn’t want this unpleasant reminder of his wife’s death. That doesn’t make sense to me.

Next door neighbor Kristi Daniels testifies today that Michele was in the bathtub wearing a black top. Why is she in the tub wearing any clothing item at all? Also, she testifies that wife Michele’s head is at the faucet end and not at the opposite end of the tub to the faucet. That seems odd…
