<p>Depends on whether you are private practice or salaried. Most fields can be either, depending on your preference.</p>
<p>Also depends on how long you’ve been out of residency for some specialties. Usually, most surgery groups will pay you a salary for a few years while you build up your experience and patient base, and will then move you to being paid based on your number of patients/procedures.</p>
