Doctoral Acceptance, if grandfather an alumni?

<p>Hi I was just wondering if acceptance to Northwestern was given a better chance if your family was an alumni. My plan is to do a masters at SF State in philosophy, then apply for a doctoral program. </p>

<p>I am looking at UCB, UCLA as they are public and in state where I will be, but also have thought about NW. Also I have previously lived in Chicago and love it and have connections there.</p>

<p>My grandfather was class of 51 in engineering.</p>

<p>Colleges are starting to not consider legacies any more. So I don’t know</p>

<p>try posting this in the graduate school forum, you’ll probably get more helpful responses since this forum is mainly for undergrad.</p>

<p>What makes you think that colleges are no longer considering legacies?</p>
