Does a 1360 Stand a chance?

what are some of the more “easier” combined programs to get into? And Do I even have a chance?

General:

White Female
1360 730 - writing
94 GPA
Athlete - Possible Recruitment
A lot of Good EC’s but … lacking the Scores

I think you might. Combined programs are typically (trying not to stereotype too much) Asian-dominated programs.

As such, I think you would bring some much needed diversity to these programs and despite not having top top scores (a 94 average is really good though), I think you would have a good chance at getting in!

I don’t know…are you blonde…hot - that could help.

That’s a disgusting answer from a supposedly scholastic student. I am Asian too, if you care.

a 1360 is not a bad score at all but honestly, i think you should try your best on a retake because most people realistically have a 1450 or higher. My friend who applied to TCNJ-UMDNJ 7year got rejected entirely because of his sat score which was a 1410. They even told him that the rest of his app and interview was perfect, it was just the sat score that got him rejected.

Okay…I’m sorry for my “disgusting” answer. It’s just that I was watching Legally Blonde (don’t ask why) and I think Reese Witherspoon’s SAT score was also 1360. Also, if any of you have watched the movie, you would understand my comment in regards to how she got in (the video…swimsuit). So, anyways, sorry.
And by the way, I think that if you raise your SAT score to a 2150 , you have a good chance in most programs. And if you need help with your essays, I could give you mine. I’ll be happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for the clarification hydrogen3k. I did not watch the movie and thus have no context of your remarks. I am impressed and appreciate that you acknowledged the complaint and addressed it sincerely. Best of luck with your endeavour.

Drexel’s isnt that hard to get into. A friend of mine made it with a 1370 or 1380 and he’s Indian.

do you mean the drexel med program or just drexel undergrad?

Bump

That sounds kinda low for an 8 year program =P

can i read your essays maybe hydrogen

If you read through the Stats thread at the top of the page, BBJADMIT stated that he got into Drexel with a 1360 SAT score…Drexel is considered one of the easiest combined programs to get into. Plus, its seven years, which is a great plus. Usually though, a 1400 at least is needed to be considered for most programs; a 1450 is usually considered to be safe. Try writing the SAT’s a couple more times. You have plenty of time before you start applying next year…Good luck…But right now I think Drexel would be good for you since they accept students in the 1300 range. That would be rare if not unheard of at most other schools…

so basically with a 1520, 3.9 gpa, average ecs, and great interviews, i should be guaranteed drexels 7 year?

Nothing is ever guaranteed.

Is Drexel a good med school? dont you have to take the MCAT though?
