Work at Kumon for 1+ year(s) (I started working at Kumon, my first job, around the first week of January 2018 and plan on staying here)

Unicef for 1.5 years
Babysitting for 3+ years

How else can I build up my EC’s?

Have you run the NPC on this list of schools, or are you okay being full pay (perhaps $70k per year) at some of them?

Also, do you have an unweighted GPA that you can share, or can you comment on the number of A’s versus B’s versus lower grades?

Isn’t this your 3rd post on the same subject? 3.6 weighted + relatively low SAT + ORM means reach for most schools on your list. Forget Cal/UCLA since you’re from Illinois-too expensive and your grades won’t make the cut.

Iowa and Mizzou are matches. Indiana is a reach if you’re applying to Kelly.

WashU is high reach/unlikely for Olin.

There is no such school as Pomona University. There is a Pomona College in the Claremont Consortium but that is another high reach.

Your safety is University of Illinois Chicago.

DEFINITELY a top heavy list. I wouldn’t apply to more than one or two super reaches and I’d add another safety like UIS as just one safety is never a good idea. Even then, that would be a lot of schools and you may want to take off one or two reaches. I’ll admit I’m not too knowledgeable on how hard it is to get into Purdue’s business school compared to generally so if another more knowledgeable poster could clarify whether it is a match or a reach that would be appreciated. Also are your parents prepared to pay full sticker price? At lots of these schools you won’t get any financial aid.

Weighted GPA is useless to anyone who does not know the weighting system.

A 3.6 weighted GPA may correspond to a 2.6 unweighted GPA, or a 3.4 unweighted GPA. That is a big difference that is significant in assessing reach/match/safety.

Thanks for the helpful tip of top heavy! I just did not know the standards and there are lucky people that get in etc. Yes, my parents can play for the college which will not be a problem. I just have to get in first haha. I did some research and definitely took some schools off. I’m really interested in Fordham currently and have visited the LC and Rose Hill campus. Do you recommend any colleges that are in the heart of the city like Fordham? @TheGr8Gatsby @Dustyfeathers

Hofstra is on Long Island, but close enough that it is has access to NYC. Also a great option for someone interested in business. Would be a low match.

You could try Pace University in Manhattan. It has 16 business related majors and would be a safety for you. They also have two secondary campuses in Westchester if you would rather be close to NYC but not actually in the city itself.

I don’t know much about them but you could check out the CUNYs.

If Fordham is your first choice then definitely apply ED as it will give you a boost in admissions. Don’t commit to ED before visiting the campus, though.
