Does a generic LOR hurt

My professor wrote a very generic lOR for me. It was written on the blank part of the common app and it pretty much states, in less than 7 sentences ,that I was great and yada yada. should I look to have another teacher write a letter of recommendation?
Thanks in advance

hmmm I'd like to think that it doesn't hurt mainly because its out of your control. You cannot be blamed for your teachers inability to write a LOR. So, yes you should definitely get another teacher to write a LOR. However, to avoid another situation like this pinpoint something that you'd like the teacher to expound on. It could be a project that you did that impressed the teacher, your participation in class, your involvement in helping other students in the class.
