Does a Waitlist at UChicago mean I am borderline for other top privates?

I was recently waitlisted at the University of Chicago.

Does this mean I am on the borderline for other top private schools (Duke, JHU, Northwestern, etc)?

It's too unpredictable a year to tell

plus, UChicago'admissions policies are so wacky

my friend got into brown ED but not uchicago (deferred), uchicago is full of anomalies

I hope not.

u do realize some colleges might not accept u if they think ur just using them as a safety so they can protect their yield rates? i wouldnt worry too much about it, since u cant be sure whether they didnt accept u since they didnt think u showed enough interest or b/c ur not qualified

UChicago is better than Brown. End of story.

i dont think anyone should be making blanket statements about which colleges are better. to each his own, and what may be better suited for one person may not be great for another.

aznfishy, I'd be very surprised if anyone was using Chicago as a safety

maybe Uchicago is higher ranked than brown according to USnews, but it is absolutely not as selective
