Does ABET accredit any BA programs in Engineering?

<p>I was looking at this post about [BA</a> vs BS in Engineering](<a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/7545258-post5.html]BA”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/7545258-post5.html) and see that Rice University has an accredited BS in Electrical Engineering program, but does not have one for its BA in Electrical Engineering degree. </p>

<p>I was wondering if anyone was familiar with ABET accrediting BA degrees for Engineering programs?</p>

<p>If you want to know whether a given degree (regardless of its title as BA, BS, or whatever) is ABET accredited, just look on [ABET</a> -](<a href=“http://www.abet.org%5DABET”>http://www.abet.org) .</p>

<p>I’ve not seen an ABET BA program. Usually a BA in Engineering is for students who have an interest in engineering but want a more diverse undergraduate degree (more humanities or languages, etc.). Some schools offer both a BA and BS but only the BS is ABET. It has to do with the number and type of courses required for the ABET approval.</p>
