Does anybody know how to improve science score?

How the blodddy hell do you improve in science for the act. I am a really good science student. I have taken all the chemistry and physics courses in my high school and i have made like 99’s in all of them. I made a 5 on the ap chemistry test and i took chemistry in tenth grade. My science score is only like a 22 though.

I got a whole bunch of act books in my house, should i just work the graph sections.

Will my brain become quicker at analzying it, or should i not just waste me time and take the SAT which is way way easier for me than the ACT

I need some guidance

act>sat to me. I know what u mean though, i dominate in science, but got a 27 on the ACT science. What im gonna do is a few things.

 1. u have 5 minutes per section. gonna bring a digital watch and pace myself carefully
 2. Take practice sections, and see if diving into the questions is better than reading the passages

All in all, science sucks

“Take practice sections, and see if diving into the questions is better than reading the passages”

it is; it’s how my science went from 25 to 30/31

My science went from getting a 27 3 times, to a 34. Take practice tests and work on pacing.

So just practice the science? Hey what if i practice the science and then it still is pretty low. I will feel bad then.

dont worry. i spent a whole summer prepping for the SAT and thought i would get over 750 on writing. I got a 640.

go straight to the questions. when the graphs cant answer the questions for you, refer to the blurbs in the beginning for some a little bit of info, but try and skim when this is the case.
helped me go 29->34

I boosted my 27 to a 29 in Science through the art of prayer.

Seriously, I REALLY had little clue as to what I was doing. Unfortunately, some of it boils down to how lucky you can be in random guessing.

when you guys randomly guess, what is your faviourte answer choice?

I agree with SubMachineNips - go straight to the questions and then look at the pictures/graphs/tables… Only read the text if you have to and can’t find the information anywhere else (My Science scores: June 07 - 34, Oct 07 - 36)

For random guessing, I tend to pick C. If I have eliminated that, I pick E. If I have eliminated that too, A… D… B.

I like guessing A, for me its the most confident choice

My advice would be to bring a watch to the test and keep track of time. This helped me tremendously. Also do a lot of practice sections. I agree with everyone above: go straight to the questions. And yes, I think luck does a play a role, especially in the science section. By doing practice(timed), I went from a 24–>35 in the science section.

I like choosing B

Well for one thing, if you don’t understand a section…skip it and go back if there is time. I wasted time on this last one trying to figure out this one section, so I had to guess on the whole last section, so my science went down from a 28 to a 26…someone else told me that he skipped something he thought was hard and made it to the last set which he considered to be simple, he said you didn’t even need to have any prior knowledge, nor did you need to read the blurb.

I’m not taking it again, but if I was, I would not read the blurbs unless absolutely necessary, and skip a question/set if it seemed to difficult so I could see every problem/set.
