Does Anyone Else Get Annoyed with Getting Help?

I have to get help in every class in almost every lecture because there are always some concepts I don’t understand. And I get frustrated because I think I’m not smart enough or that my instructors aren’t competent enough to teach the subject. This is getting extremely annoying to me because I can’t solve problems on my own without going to office hours or having someone else explain it to me. This is also very detrimental because I won’t have anyone else to help me during tests, which count for most of the grade. I just feel like I’m a slow learner most of the times. Is anyone else this way and is successful? I need inspiration.

It is for this very reason that professors/TA’s have office hours, and it is also for this reason that most schools have tutoring labs.

Trust me, you are not the only student that struggles to grasp every concept right off the bat. Asking for help is nothing to feel ashamed of or embarrassed about. People that actually care about their grades should know when to ask for help, rather than trying to be stubborn and just insisting on figuring it out for themselves.

I don’t really like asking for help. I do tend to grasp a lot of concepts quicker than a lot of other people, but when I do need help I’m not afraid to ask for it. I’ll usually spend a considerable amount of time trying to figure it out on my own though, because I’ve found that I learn things far more comprehensively when I puzzle out the more difficult aspects on my own.
