Does anyone know any animal shelters in queens?

<p>I wanted to do some volunteer work over the summer. I don’t take any extracurricular activities or play any instruments so I thought I should at least be able to put something on my application. I live in New York City, Queens. Does anyone know any good volunteer places around there? Preferably an animal shelter?</p>

<p>There are tons. New York has one of the worst ratios of animals going in but never coming out.</p>
