Does anyone know anything about Worldwide Orphan Relief Coalition (worcforce)?

My D is interested in volunteering at an orphanage in Ghana through the Worldwide Orphan Relief Coalition. I would obviously like more info before I let her fly off to Ghana. Is anyone familiar with the organization?

I’ve never heard of that organization, however WWOF (WorldWide Orphans Foundation) is very well known. I have met the founder and she is well-respected.

WWOF also offers international volunteer opportunities in several locations.

[Worldwide Orphans Foundation](http://www.wwo.org/page.aspx?pid=386)

If you have the correct name, it’s not listed with Charity Navigator, which would be a negative for me. (Worldwide Orphans Foundation is listed. )

PS You have the right name. There is a facebook page–which doesn’t mean much. However, maybe you/your D can find someone who went to Ghana through it.

Also, this tumblr link has links to its official website. It’s new–2009–and founded by a college student. http://worcforce.■■■■■■■■■■/about

Maybe start a new thread about volunteering in Ghana.

Nearly 100% of the board is college students, which is a negative for me. I would be suspect of how well they have vetted all the risks. Even if there were older professionals on the board, I’m not sure I would be OK sending my college student to an organization that was only founded in 2009.

I am so sorry that I am just now seeing this. We run trips every summer. If ever interested, please contact volunteer@worcforce.org or you can go through our website- worcforce.org!
Thank you for your interest in being a part of the WORCforce
