Does anyone know how this works?

I am freaking out about every possible thing that I can worry about. My paranoia may explain why I am asking this:
How does sending in a CD/DVD or an art portfolio affect the admissions process? If your stuff gets evaluated by the departments that have to do with with whatever your medium is, how do the evaluations of the departments influence the decision? Do they make a recommendation of some sort, which would probably lead to an acceptance?

Stop freaking out.

It has to be of superior quality, and possibly subject to review by the Yale faculty. We do not know how, and to what degree the evaluation of content may affect the admissions process. However, the 7-8 percent admission rate still applies. Numerous people sending in outside materials/portfolios have been rejected. Also, it really doesn’t matter how good the outside material is, if the stats/essays/recommendations/scores/ECs etc can’t back you up.
