I see that PHI 3700 has an N in the writing requirement column whereas other philosophy courses have a number (2,4,6) or nothing at all. What does this mean?

Per the legend at the top of the Writing/Math indicator column in the course schedule, N means Not Gordon Rule. So there is no writing credit given for that class. It may as well be blank because it means the same thing. Sometimes the same class is offered with and without writing credit, and you see the N more on those to indicate the section does not give writing credit.

Yeah, I wasn’t sure if it meant “not specified” or just “not”

Thanks.

N also means International

[Office of the University Registrar](http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/catalog/policies/advisinggened.html)

^This was in the Gordon Rule section, not the gen-ed.
