I would definitely say you do have a good chance at getting into many of the colleges you listed. Your test scores and gpa are solid and you’re involved in extracurriculars. Some of your AP test scores aren’t so good, but as long as they aren’t in the subject you want to study then I think that won’t matter very much. Good luck!!!

@oliviacloud70 Thank you so much for providing your opinion, I greatly appreciate it.

You’d make a great addition to any of the schools to which you applied. I think you’d do well at any of them. The problem is that you come from a high scoring, tough curriculum area where so many of the kids apply to the very same schools you have. Look at the selectivity of the schools that waitlisted you and that selectivity level is about where you can start graying in the area where you have reasonable chances of acceptance. With what’s left on your list, I’d start with BU, Umiami and NYU. Depending your major and the what any given school wants to fill less full seats in their classrooms, it becomes increasingly difficult for anyone to gain admissions to schools like USC and Cornell. The others are the most selective schools in the country and are truly crap shoots for most anyone.

Great grades your freshman year in college and a focus on a dept at a number of schools would give you excellent transfer chances at a number of those schools. Some of them do take hardly any transfers, but a number do take a surprisingly large number of transfer students. If you really want to get into the most selective tiers of your list, that is probably the most likely way to gain acceptance.
