Yes, it’s kitschy, but it is kinda fun. Does anyone else watch? Its about to start (second episode of season 2).
My 21 year old son (who lives with us) watched it last season. I saw a couple of shows with him, though lost interest.
I was surprised enough people liked it well enough for it to come back, though I also guess it is better than a lot of things that could be on instead.
I thought it was fun and will be watching season 2. No one in my family liked it so I usually stream it the next day.
I’m watching it now for the first time. Surprised at how entertaining it is!
I started watching it last year, and it just moved way too slow. Did anyone else find that? Did they pick up the pace this year?
First 2 were unmasked last night. Didn’t seem slow. They seem to have more head to head competitions and more singing, but I am not sure - can’t recall last year’s format all that well.
I enjoy the costumes and performances and trying to figure out who is under the mask, but I could do without the screaming judges making mostly nonsensical guesses. Usually I dvr it for exactly that reason, so I can skip ads AND the judging panel!
I believe they have more competitors this season, added the sing-off challenge for the bottom 2, and overall found more passable singers so far this season than last. I think with the surprise success of season 1 they had a lot more people willing to be on the show.
Back to watching the Masked SInger tonight! Its fun!
