Does anyone

I just read somewhere that some people apply to Stanford in their junior year, do people really do this?

It just seems illogical.

…i dont think that’s possible…maybe they meant their junior year of college?

no, it’s been done. It’s not illogical if you’ve finished your school’s AP courses and you are ready for college.

Please explain.

People do it for different reasons. One reason is that you’ve done pretty much all your school’s advanced courses. So, if you’ve finished Calc BC, the 3 major AP sciences, AP Language, and AP USH and another social science AP, and have gotten ahead in english to be able to apply as a junior, then it would make sense, assuming your school does not offer courses past those you’ve already taken. Yes, you could probably still find courses to take at your school, but if you’re just taking a couple (because math, science, and english are done), you might as well just apply to college. Your giving yourself a year of additional earnings.

So, if someone does apply junior year, and gets rejected, do they get to reapply next year?

^ yes they do

You can apply to Stanford whenever you want in life. Heck, a 50-year old could, if he/she really wanted to…
I know a kid who applied to MIT his senior year, and got rejected. Then, he applied for transfer each year of college, and, after he graduated from our state school, MIT grad school. Poor guy got rejected each time. He loved MIT but just wasn’t good enough for them. : (
