Hi, this is what my current junior year course selection looks like:
Fall -
AP Statistics
AP Language
Spanish 3
Journalism
Spring -
AP CSA
AP Biology
AP Psych
Advanced Journalism
I have lang in fall term because I heard that it helps with the SAT english section and I think my schedule is pretty well balanced like this. However, I was wondering if I should swap biology and language because I will likely need a science teacher LOR when it comes time to apply for summer programs next year (and a spring one would be too late) and I currently don’t really have a science teacher I’m close to.
Would getting close to my bio teacher outweigh lang SAT benefit? Not to mention I heard biology is memorization heavy and taking it in the fall would mean I’d forget stuff by May and have to spend more time relearning.
I’m not saying it must be bio specifically, I just know that certain programs (eg MIT WTP) require one of your letters to be from a science teacher and since I’m not taking AP chem or physics next year that would be the science teacher I would get close to.
You’re right though about SAT being more important, I think I’m overthinking it lol I’ll keep it as is
