Does Astro 1101 count as bcpm?

I wanted to know if Astro 1101 at cornell counts as bcpm gpa? I looked it up and it is under physics for AMCAS, but i talked to the premed advisor Judy and she said only classes with science based content count, and astro 1101 has no physics in it, or bio, or chem, or math right?

So does it count?

(Norcalguy please help  )

It’ll probably count. AMCAS has no way to tell how much science is in a course except by the department listing.

Thing is my bcpm is kind of low so i dont want to risk it. Ive heard stories on both sides that their astro count has counted and that it hasn’t.

Can’t they check the syllabus course description?

There’s thousands of colleges in the country with thousands of courses per college. Do you think they check the course syllabus for each course?

This is from 2009, but I imagine it would be helpful. I have heard that AMCAS does recategorize classes if they feel that your classification is incorrect, but does not always challenge it for borderline calls.
