Does being a former reporter help?

Hey everyone,

I’ve applied for MIT and I’m an international, more specifically from Sweden. (This is my first post here btw, woo! )

From ages 12-15 I was a reporter on a news show for kids (target age was 8-12 I believe). This was on a Swedish national TV-channel. Should I have written this in my application? And if so where?

I didn’t provide this information anywhere so maybe I should provide this in the midyear report or somewhere else? What do you people think?

Thanks for any help

Yes. Normally you don’t write activities before high school, but I would mention something big like this. Generally, if you do something at the professional level, it’s ok to mention even if it is before high school. I’d say this qualifies. I’d mention it in the mid-year report.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any idea of where to write it? Does it perhaps go under non-scholastic distinctions?

That would have been a perfect place. Its also something to bring up at interview.

Too bad I missed putting it in there, I’ll probably sneak it in the midyear report. At least I mentioned it in the interview :)
